Happy bird-day!

Here's another 'Pun Fun' card.

The colours are Riding Hood Red & Pink Pirouette.
The background is the 'see you around' wheel, run through the riding hood red ink pad.
I've used up a bit more of the sweet always DSP & sponged around the edges in riding hood red
I stamped the bird onto watercolor paper & used my aqua painter with pink pirouette & red riding hood ink pads... and a tiny bit of kiwi kiss on the hat.
I went around the image in bashful blue & the aqua painter.

Love you a latte!

I really like Pun Fun Stamp set (pg 41). I thinks it's so cute!
I've used it here with (yet again) Sweet Always Designer Series Paper... I love playing with doubled sided papers.

Thought I'd dissect this for you :
Its a whisper white card base, with a strip of regal rose with a scalloped edge & then a piece of (regal rose) always DSP on top. It slightly over laps the spot & strips pieces of DSP. I used a piece of chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon to hide where these papers join.
Stamped the image onto watercolor paper with black staz-on, the coloured in with aqua painters, choc chip & close to cocoa ink pads, and sahara sand around the outside. Glue pen & dazzlin' diamonds glitter on the hearts, & white gel pen on the dots underneath the heart.
Sponged choc chip ink around the edges then mounted onto choc chip card stock. Stampin diamensional to stick this onto the card.
Tied linen thread through a choc chip button then attached it with a few glue dots.

Mothers Day Card & Backpack

Here's the card I've made for my Mum for mothers day.
Its a tri-fold card and a matching backpack (template from splitcoaststampers.com) with chocolates inside.
The middle panel of the card is blank as I'm going to put a photo there.

I've used the Always stamp set & Sweet Always co-ordinating DSP (scroll down to check of the DSP special on this month)

To get 2 colours on a stamp like this you can use markers to colour in the stamp then breathe/huff on the inked image to remoisten the ink before stamping it onto your card stock.
OR ink up on your ink pad in one colour then use a cotton bud to remove the ink before apply another colour with a cotton bud or markers, (as above breathe on the ink to remoisten)

Stamps: Always, Short & Sweet
Card: Choc chip, whisper white, textured pink pirouette
Sweet always DSP
Inks: regal rose, choc chip
Other bits & pieces: tab punch, assorted clips, brads, felt flowers, piercing mat & piercing tool, daubers, pink pirouette ribbon, choc chip ribbon, eyelets, sticky strip & snail adhesive

Mother's Day Pre-school Packets

I used up some retired patterned paper & made 40 packets for the pre-school mothers day stall. There will be a little gift inside the packet. The children get to 'shop' for one of 6 gifts available to buy. 2 of the 6 gifts to choose from will be in one of these packets.

I’m looking forward to Sunday to see what I get!
Will I get one of these packets back?...

40's the new 30... isn't it?

My Neighbour turned 40 last week... and she wasn't looking forward to the big 'four O'.

I've been telling her for weeks that 40 is the new 30 and she shouldn't feel sad about it.
ummm... does that mean 30's the new 21? :)

Anyway, she would't tell me what date her birthday was and was totally avoiding the issue. It wasn't until I logged on facebook that day & saw her it was her birthday that I knew when it was.

So I quickly whipped up this card & a batch of cookies to give to her when she got home from work. I purposely avoided putting any numbers on the card... but was tempted to make one with a big Three 0 on the front :-)

I've used:
Cheery Chat stamp set
pink passion, pixie pink, basic black & whisper white card stock.
Pixie pink ink pad,
ribbon (from last years IB&C)
sticky cuts letters & glitter (pg 145),
crimper

Easter Card update

Remember my earlier blog where I mentioned I'd made bookmark cards for the pre-school children (3yrs old) to decorate for Easter? Well I've finally got around to sharing the picture.
