I have lots of favourite stampin’ up! products but I’d have to say punches are top of the list at the moment.
So I was happy to see a few new punches in my demonstrator copy of the new 2009-10 catalogue… yep, there on my wish list!

Punches add a quick focal point to any card or scrapbook page.
I love that they are quick & easy to use and you are only limit by you imagination… speaking of which check out this link to see some very clever punched pictures!

SNEAK PEAK... in colour

here's a sneak peak of 2 of the new in colours
Riding Hood Red and Tangerine Tango.
What do you think?
I have stamped the lion twice in Tangerine Tango (1 as the base & 1 for his face) I cut a Riding Hood Red main out and layered them with stampin’ dimensionals. Used a tiny bit of crystal effects to adhere some dazzlin diamonds glitter to his nose.
Used daubers on the edges of the white card stock.
Check back soon for a sneak peak of a new stamp set I have from the 2009-10 catalogue out 1st APRIL (one of the perks of being a demonstrator!)

Bookmark card

I made these bookmark cards for my daughters pre-school class to decorate using barely banana & confetti cream card stock.

I thought it would be lovely to have the bookmark as a small keepsake from the kids.

The 'love you' stamp is from the "Big on Spring" set in the Summer Mini catalogue (availbale until 31st March)

I used the scoring blade in my paper trimmer to perforate the bookmark part of the card, used the slit punch for the ribbon & a small glue dot on the back of the ribbon to hold it.
I hope the kids enjoy decorating these & can’t wait to see how they turn out :)
I'll post the finished product when I get it back...

Wild About You : Elephant

I inked part of the canvas background stamp with my lovely lilac classic ink pad, then ‘kissed’ the elephant stamp from Wild About You set onto the canvas stamp so the ink transferred to the elephant, stamped on whisper white & the result in a patterned elephant.

I cut out the ear from another stamped elephant, added the chunky glitter with the Tombow Multi Purpose glue, (both from Summer Mini catalogue, only available until 31st March ‘09) and used dimensionals to on the stick the ear.

Inked the flower with stampin’ markers, pixie pink & certainly celery and attended to the elephant image. Used a bit of certainly celery from the lid of the classic ink pad & the aqua painter to make a subtle line so the elephant looks like his standing on grass rather than floating.

Used the slit punch on opposite corners of the lovely lilac card to slide the corners of the white under, pierced through both pieces to attach the soft subtles buttons with linen thread & a needle.

Then I stamped the paisley background stamp in almost amethyst ink on almost amethyst card stock. Inked a chipboard number 4 in white craft ink & once dry used crystal effects to apply some more chunky glitter. (I love the chunky glitter – so sparkly!)
Punched out a lovely lilac circle & stuck the number 4 with Tombow glue, then used dimensionals to stick the circle on the card.

I hope my niece likes this card, I’m pleased with how it turned out.

Mother-in-Laws Birthday Card

Here’s a quick card I made today to send to my MIL for her birthday next week.

Rose Red Card Stock, Whisper White Card Stock
Garden Whimsy Stamp Set , Wonderful Favourite Stamp Set
Rose Red Classic Ink Pad, Lovely Lilac Classic Ink Pad
Old Olive Classic Ink Pad, Certainly Celery Classic Ink Pad
Bravo Burgundy ¼ “ Grosgrain Ribbon
Sponge Daubers
Oval Punch
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Designer Series Paper: Rose Red (retiring)

I inked the bud part of the stamp with Rose Red first, then with my sponge dauber put a bit of Lovely Lilac it the base of the bud. I then inked the stem in Certainly Celery and swiped the edges of the stem in Old Olive.
When you do this be sure to start with the lighted colour, then swipe into the darker colour as you don’t want the darker ink in your light ink pad.

I also used the sponge daubers to smudge a bit of Rose Red & Lovely Lilac around the white card stock before mounting it to Rose Red card stock, then onto Whisper White.
Stuck a piece of ribbon around the designer series paper with sticky strip (hiding the ends behind the back of the paper) before stick to the Whisper White card base with SNAIL.
Stamped the work ‘mother’ the punched it out with oval & added Rose Red Ink around the white oval with sponge dauber, then punched a same size Rose Red oval & stuck these two ovals together before adhering with Stampin’ dimensionals.

I've just gone through my catalogue with my marker a put a red "R" at the side of the items on there way out.
