Birthday boxes

My 'big girl' turned 4 on Monday and she wanted to have ALL her friends over for a party. (We managed to scale it down to 10... plus siblings... plus parents)
Any way she had a fantastic time dancing, singing (very loudly) playing pass the parcel, pin the bracelet on Dora and a spot of face painting by yours truely!
And of course she was spoilt rotten with lots of lovely gifts.

I made these cute little lolly-boxes (rather than those massive loot-bags that never seem 'full')
Thanks to Marelle Taylor for sharing the tutorial on how to make these Seven's boxes.
Each box used 1 sheet of A4 card stock scored at 7cm intervals (7, 14, 21, 28) or if your using inches it's 2 3/4" , 5 1/2", 8 1/4", 11"

I've used a wheel to decorate the box before I stuck it all together, and the curly label punch for the window.

The inaugural Larool Pre-school Twilight Market will be held on Thursday 29th October, from 7:30pm - 10pm at the Pre-school (12 Larool Crescent, Thornleigh).

It will be a great opportunity to come along and shop for yourself, for Christmas, or just for the sake of shopping without a child in tow.

Below are some of the stalls that will be at the market night.

Entry is by gold coin donations and this will give you access to not only the wonderful stalls, but also wine and nibblies.

I'll have the 2009-10 Stampin' Up! idea book & catalogue for sale on the night for $10, as well as be taking catalogue orders.

You will be able to purchase gift vouchers, hand made cards, as well as some lovely wrapped chocolate, and mini gift boxes (perfect size for those Pandora beads!)

'C' for...

Here's a wooden letter 'C' that I decorated recently to give to cute little Cooper for his 1st birthday.
I slapped on some paint, stuck on the patterned paper, sealed, adhered some matching brads & letters with the hot glue gun, then finished with rub-ons & some fibers.

Forest Friends

Here's a cards I made for my lovely friend, whom I went to primary school with in England & is now living in Perth, Australia.

Forest Friends Stamp Set is from the Spring Mini Catalogue... available from 1st August for a limited time only.

The base is Chocolate Chip, then a layer of textured pink pirouette and then always DSP on top of that. Silver hodgepodge hardware frames the no. 30 and has attached white taffeta ribbon which wraps around the pink pirouette card stock. The '30' is printed on the computer & punched with the designer label punch.
The tree stamp was colored with my choc chip & old olive markers & stamped onto whisper white & mounted onto old olive card stock. Bunny was stamped in Going Gray, cut out & raised with stampin' dimensionals.

a card for my Wonderful Sister

This birthday card uses Stampin' Up! Fifth Avenue & Wonderful Favourites Stamp sets.
The colours are Not Quite Navy, Rose Red, Kraft & DSP Bella Bleu.

The rose is stamped on to watercolor paper using black staz-on ink then coloured with a Rose Red marker & aqua painter. Then cut out & mounted with stampin' diamensionals to raise it.
Rose Red 1" double stitched ribbon hides the join of the two pieces before matting onto kraft cardstock, then matted on the rose red base.
"Wonderful" is stamped in versamark ink with white embossing powder & "sister" is versamark ink with black embossing powder.
I have wrapped her little pressie in the same DSP Bella Bleu paper & rose red ribbon.

All products are Stampin' Up! except the 3 little pink rhinestones : they are Kasiercaft.
To order Stampin' Up! products email me :

I hope my Wonderful Sister has a wonderful birthday tomorrow.

Wild About... my new spiral punch!

I saw this 'film strip' idea months ago somewhere on the net, but I can't remember where.
I've only recently got the spiral punch so have been testing out different ways to use it.

This card was quite quick & easy to make : the 'wild about you' animals are punched out with the square punch & mounted onto the basic black film strip & the background is 'Sanded' background stamp in Basic Grey ink on whisper white card stock. The Happy Birthday stamp is heat embossed with versamark & white embossing powder on real red card stock.

Dazzlin' Pun Fun

'Mary's little lamb' (as my 3yr old calls this) is covered in crystal effects then sprinkled with dazzlin' diamonds glitter. I've cut around it with my paper snips & mounted on rose red card stock with stampin' diamensionals to raise.
The lighter colour pink is the in color : pink pirouette. DSP is from the level 1 hostess Patterns pack II (rose red). Mat pack & paper piercing tool used in the corners of the rose red card stock before mounting on pink pirouette.  Also used the Short & Sweet stamp set & oval punches.

Same layout as Sunday's workshop make & take : measure the middle of your card stock (10.5cm) & use your bone folder to fold one edge at a time into the middle of the card stock

The card below is also the same layout  & colours (baja breeze) as Sunday's workshop make & take

Happy bird-day!

Here's another 'Pun Fun' card.

The colours are Riding Hood Red & Pink Pirouette.
The background is the 'see you around' wheel, run through the riding hood red ink pad.
I've used up a bit more of the sweet always DSP & sponged around the edges in riding hood red
I stamped the bird onto watercolor paper & used my aqua painter with pink pirouette & red riding hood ink pads... and a tiny bit of kiwi kiss on the hat.
I went around the image in bashful blue & the aqua painter.

Love you a latte!

I really like Pun Fun Stamp set (pg 41). I thinks it's so cute!
I've used it here with (yet again) Sweet Always Designer Series Paper... I love playing with doubled sided papers.

Thought I'd dissect this for you :
Its a whisper white card base, with a strip of regal rose with a scalloped edge & then a piece of (regal rose) always DSP on top. It slightly over laps the spot & strips pieces of DSP. I used a piece of chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon to hide where these papers join.
Stamped the image onto watercolor paper with black staz-on, the coloured in with aqua painters, choc chip & close to cocoa ink pads, and sahara sand around the outside. Glue pen & dazzlin' diamonds glitter on the hearts, & white gel pen on the dots underneath the heart.
Sponged choc chip ink around the edges then mounted onto choc chip card stock. Stampin diamensional to stick this onto the card.
Tied linen thread through a choc chip button then attached it with a few glue dots.
